The Tavern on The Bay

Quality Dining With Stunning Panoramic Views

The Tavern on the Bay

The Tavern on the Bay is our very own restaurant and bar which is popular amongst park users and the local residents on Anglesey and beyond. The building was originally a mariner’s cottage and was built in 1924, it has seen various uses, but today and with an incredible glass extension that alone cost £700,000 it has been completely transformed.

The Tavern on the Bay was an idea conceived by St. David’s Park’s current owner, Steve Davies, who carried out the refurbishment personally. The new glass frontage and extension wrap around the original building providing a truly mesmerising 270° panoramic view from Benllech bay, taking in Red Wharf Bay and beyond to the Great Orme in Llandudno. Steve paid great attention to detail in the development of The Tavern, using local materials when possible as well as hiring workers and tradesmen local to the area. “It’s important to us all that The Tavern is rooted in the local community,” says son and Area Manager, Geoff. “We wanted local tradesmen to carry out the construction work and we’d like local residents to come and enjoy the facilities all year round. We’ve been able to take on more local staff in the kitchen and front of house so this really is a year-round destination for Anglesey residents – not just a tourist attraction in the summer.”

The Tavern is now the place to eat, drink, relax and unwind on the island.

Our Head Chef also makes a point – and takes pride – in using locally sourced ingredients and produce to provide a seasonal menu. The Tavern is a popular destination for functions and we can cater for events up to 70 people – so make sure you bear us in mind for your next function!
